Oscillations and Synchronization in Neural Circuits, Computational Neuroscience of Parkinson’s disease and addiction.
I am a computational neuroscientist and mathematical biologist. I use methods and ideas of dynamical systems theory in application to neuroscience. For the past decade or so years my research interest was focused on the mechanisms and functions of synchronous dynamics in different neural systems. I closely collaborate with clinical and experimental neuroscientists in a quest to detect, describe, model, and eventually control neural oscillations and synchrony. I use data-analysis, computational modeling and analytical techniques to study mechanisms, functions and dysfunctions of neural synchronization mostly in application to neurophysiology of Parkinson’s disease and disorders of addiction.
