Imaging and Sensory Biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease.

My main research interests involve evaluating imaging and non-imaging biomarkers of Alzheimer’s disease for utility in early detection and diagnosis. In particular, I am interested in evaluating which biomarkers are most sensitive in the earliest stages of disease, both for detecting pathophysiological changes and for predicting future clinical outcomes. I am primarily focused on structural, functional and molecular imaging biomarkers of AD, but have additional interest in novel biomarkers such as sensory and perceptual tests. Specifically, I am investigating tests of vision, smell, and hearing as potential biomarkers of dementia. Finally, I am interested in the impact of genetic variations in the development of dementia and the molecular changes associated with cognitive decline.
